Dog Showed Up For Story Time At The Library, But No One Came To Read To Him

You’ve heard the tales of kids who throw birthday parties but nobody shows up. Then, as atonement, kind individuals appear to ensure that the child enjoys the most memorable party ever. That is, in fact, what is taking place right now with a dog by the name of Sting.

Sting is a nice, trained therapy dog that enjoys nothing more than to listen.

Sting participates in a program called “Paws to Read” twice a month at the Ramsey County Library in White Bear Lake, Minnesota, which is roughly 20 miles northeast of Minneapolis. Involvement from Sting dates back two years.

Children’s librarian Ann Wahlstrom explained to TODAY:

“It’s intended to be an enjoyable setting. Give children a safe, enjoyable space where they may practice reading with a dog.”

Sting spends 20 minutes with each child during his visits, which typically last an hour. But the inconceivable occurred last week. Nobody arrived.

No one signed up to read to Sting at the White Bear Lake Library tonight, which is a shame.

Sting appeared to be rather upset and dissatisfied.

John then invited anybody who knows “a 4- or 8-year-old who would want to read to a dog” to “call the White Bear Lake Library by phone” and attached some pictures of Sting looking a little lonely and sad.

In short time, hundreds of people shared and commented on John’s message in support of Sting. Some others were prepared to pay for flights to Minnesota only to read the man a tale.
