Dog Walks Into Police Station And Convinces Cops To Let His Owner Go Free

Police in the Dominican Republic detained a guy the other night for allegedly violating local curfew restrictions enacted last month in response to the coronavirus outbreak.

But, owing to the arrestee’s loyal buddy, he wasn’t detained for long.

After the man was detained and escorted to the police station for processing, authorities there were surprised to see an unexpected visitor walk through the doors, pleading for his release.

It was the man’s dog, who turned out to be a charmingly compelling spokesperson.

Because of the dog’s attachment to his owner, police opted to let the guy off with a warning rather than separating them.

“Do you understand why I’m letting him go?” Because… the dog approached me and informed me that [the man] was his. “I’m going to let him go because of it,” police colonel José Francisco De La Cruz Mercedes stated. “This is the first time I’ve ever given a prisoner over to a dog.”

The puppy’s strategy had worked, and he was overjoyed.
