Elderly ‘Asymmetric’ Cat From the Street Gets the Retirement He Deserves

Nathalie lives in France and one day she was browsing the web looking at cat pictures from the S.P.A. (Société Protectrice des Animaux) when she spotted an adorable ginger kitty with floppy ears.

She instantly fell in love with him, especially because of his asymmetric face, and wanted to know more about his background, she had already decided in her head that she wanted to adopt him.

His name was Mike and he was found on the street super skinny, he obviously hadn’t eaten for quite some time. He also had a huge wound on his neck that needed immediate treatment, so as soon as he arrived at the shelter he was taken to the vet to see what, if anything, could be done.

He was given a thorough examination which revealed him to be about 10 years old, he tested positive for FIV and the large wound on his neck was severely infected.

They were unsure if Mike would pull through but he had a healthy appetite and appeared in good spirits which made one of the vets decide to foster him and give him a better chance of survival.

After a few months Mike was on the road to recovery, that was when he was put up for adoption and Nathalie saw his picture.

She was so sure that he would be a good fit into her life that she didn’t mind doing the 16 hour journey to the shelter to meet him.

Mike loves his new life with Nathalie, he even has a friend that comes to visit him almost every day and they communicate with each other through the window.

His life has changed so much from his time on the street and Nathalie couldn’t be happier.
