Hamdü Sena Bilgin, an 11-year-old girl from Turkey’s Rize, lives in a tiny town near the city. Hamdü and her family own a small farm where they grow goats for milk. She works as a shepherd and is the animals’ defender and guide. Her images of her and her dog rescuing a baby goat and her mother went popular on social media.
Even in the chilly winter months, her dog Tomi is constantly at her side to assist her.
One of Hamdü and Tomi’s goats went into labor as they were tending to them on a snowy mountainside distant from home.
Hamdü jumped into action, fearful that the goat and her newborn kid were too frail to return on their own.
The Dodo quoted Hamdü Sena as saying:
“I took the remainder of the herd to the farm when the goat gave birth.” So I grabbed two bags from the home and returned with Tomi to get the goat and her baby».
Hamdü carried the mother goat in his rucksack while Tomi carried the newborn goat in another backpack.
She stated, ”
“He’s a wonderful dog. Very clever “,
The two then went through the snow to safely transport the new family.
“I was fatigued since the snow was so deep. But it was all worthwhile.”
