He didn’t care about material possessions being destroyed, he just wanted to save his puppy – his best friend, writes kenhthoisu
A sad and heartfelt story about a 56-year-old man from Mexicali, Baja California, who lost his home to a raging fire and realized that his closest friend was what was truly essential in life was shared on various social media platforms.
Despite having a hearing disability that does not prevent him from being independent, the person known as Don Mario has had his own business for ten years, selling cups or covers for car tires.
Mario Alberto Méndez González lives alone with his cherished pet after regrettably having to watch as his ancestry vanished.
While Mario slept in the early morning hours, several residents of the sector were able to alert them to the fire, which appeared to have started in the room as a result of an electrical short. Thankfully, Don Mario was able to flee his flaming house before it quickly spread to other parts of the building.
His Nissan truck, which was loaded with merchandise and added to the fire’s intensity, was also consumed by flames.
While the neighbors were waiting for the fire department, Don Mario got frantic to rescue the life of his buddy who was still inside the house. The house had been almost entirely damaged by the fire, but the neighbors prevented him from going inside to rescue it.
When the firefighters arrived, they saw this dramatic situation as Don Mario, who was in a frantic state, began using a neighbor’s hose to douse the flames.
Mario had no ambition for material goods; all he wanted was that they aid his closest buddy.
In a Facebook remark, Express RGV said:
He gestured to the fireman to let them know that his dog was his main concern and that they would be able to save him.
Since it was quite improbable that the animal would have lived, everyone at the time anticipated the worst, but the guy never gave up.
One of the firefighters somehow emerged from the home with Don Mario’s dog. He shouted at it when he saw it, and the dog immediately went into his arms. He held the puppy and started weeping.
Somehow, a firefighter came out of the house carrying Don Mario’s dog. When he saw it, he yelled at it, and the dog ran into his arms. He started crying as he held the puppy.
Despite all the financial losses, what matters most in the story is that Don Mario and his dog made it through the catastrophe unharmed.
The images captured the nobleness of Don Mario’s heart and the unwavering affection he has for his friend. People who saw the news and his neighbors instantly organized a number of fundraising events to help him.
